The city, which welcomes domestic and foreign tourists arriving, is also called the gateway to the High Tatras. Its historically most important part is Spišská Sobota, which today is one of the best-preserved medieval urban complexes in Slovakia. The heart of its uniqueness is the funnel-shaped market square, surrounded by terraced buildings of historical houses.
Here you will find the beautiful Roman Catholic Church of St. George and the Renaissance bell tower standing next to it. There is a grain measure in the park, which is a souvenir of the significant Spišská Sobota markets. Spišská Sobota is a romantic place where you can enjoy great dishes in stylish restaurants. Treat yourself to a tasty coffee in cosy cafes and enjoy its atmosphere.
